Pastor & Sis. Mendenhall's Thoughts

April Update with Sister Mendenhall

We are so blessed with the leadership that we have here at the Ironwood United Pentecostal Church in South Bend, IN.  We have a Pastor that is blessed in wisdom from God; if you've sat under his ministry for any length of time you know that to be true.  Not only are we blessed with the Pastor that we have, but we also have a very kind, soft spoken and true servant of the Lord in our Pastors' wife, Sis Betty Mendenhall.  After talking a bit with her this past month I learned that her morning prayer includes the youth of our church; she loves them, and prays they live committed lives before the Lord.  In her prayer closet she also prays that the ladies of our church would bind together in prayer, and believe God to answer in a Big way.  We all have needs, whether it be lost loved ones, financial matters as a result of the current economy, sickness and so on.  Sis Mendenhall believes that if we bind together, and live our lives in a committed way, we will see the goodness of the Lord at work in our midst.  She told me a story about her grand-daughter, Faith, who most all of us know, and have seen how the Lord is working in her life.  She (Faith) attends her father-in-laws church in Grand Rapids, MI.  In one of their recent services a man who hadn't allowed the Spirit of God to move in his life for a very long time - - years I believe, and if I remember correctly, this man was in a wheelchair, he went forward for prayer, and asked that Faith come and pray for him.  As Faith was walking towards the man her minds thinking was to pray for his healing, but as she lay hands on him, the Lord re-directed her prayer to, "Lord, you know the need in this brothers life, give him Lord what he needs from you right now", and he began to pray in tongues.  The Lord gave him a re-filling of His Spirit, he was given a fresh cup from God, his vessel was filled anew.  The next day that man went home to be with the Lord: Other than being in a wheelchair, the man was fine...there were no immediate signs that he would be leaving this life as we know it, and going into eternity.  So, if we bind together, and walk humbly before the Lord, Sis Mendenhall believes we will see great things happen....we will see miracles, which is what she believes God wants to do in our midst.
